Certification Summary: This certification is for individuals who work in the information systems audit, control and security profession.
Initial requirements: Must pass CISA examination ($340/ISACA members, $460/nonmenbers. Discounts for early registration). Student membership is $55/ otherwise $110. Exam is administered twice a year, contains 200 multiple choice questions, and must be completed within four hours. A "scaled correct score of 75 " is required to pass.
Must also provide verification of a minimum of five years of experience in the IS audit, control or security profession. There are experience substitutions or waivers for a bachelor degree and working as a full-time college instructor in the field.
Continuing requirements:
Once certified a CISA must comply with the Continuing Education requirements, annually. Those requirements are: a minimum of 20 continuing professional education (CPE) hours earned that year, pay the continuing education maintenance fee, comply with the ISACA Code of Professional Ethics, and in the third year of the fixed three-year certification cycle, you must also have completed a minimum of 120 CPE hours earned within that fixed three-year certification cycle.
