Certification Summary:
For engineers who design scalable, reliable, and intelligent Data Center Virtualization solutions based on the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) along with other Cisco Data Center products, server virtualization software, and server operating systems.
Initial requirements:
You must pass the VMware Design exam. You must then pass both the Cisco Data Center Storage Networking Design Specialist exam and the Cisco Data Center Networking Infrastructure Design Specialist exam. You can bypass these first two exams via a "fast start option" if you have a valid CCDA and pass the DCUCD Qualifier exam. In either case, you must pass the DC Unified Computing Design exam. Training is available but not required.
Continuing requirements:
Certifications are valid for two years. To recertify, you must re-take and pass all exams for this certification. Please note: this includes ALL exams whether refreshed or not. Alternatively, you can pass a current CCIE or CCDE written exam. Achieving or recertifying CCDE or any CCIE automatically extends your active Specialist certification(s) up to the point of expiration of the last certification achieved.
