Certification Summary:
For individuals who are responsible for installing, configuring, developing and monitoring secure web applications using Linux systems with Apache web server, MySQL databases and the PHP scripting language (LAMP).

Initial requirements: certification training requirement

A solid Linux system administration background is necessary. You must pass 2 online exams each of which contains 75 multiple choice questions and has a 2 hour time limit. If you wish to move up to the gold level of this certification, you will also have to submit a practical assignment (a research paper). You can take these exams without taking the courses in which case they are $900 each. If you buy the training, the exams are $500 each. If you do not take the associated courses, it is not clear if you will have access to exam objectives before taking the tests.

Continuing requirements:
Must renew every 4 years by taking a refresher exam ($225). To recertify, you must pass the same exams as current certification students based on the current SANS course books.
