Certification Summary:
For individuals who can explain fundamental management of Linux systems from the command line, demonstrate knowledge of user administration, understand file permissions, software configurations, and management of Linux-based clients, server systems and security. The CompTIA Linux+ certification is a good indicator of foundational proficiency in everyday management of Linux-based clients and basic management of server systems.
Initial requirements:
You must pass the Linux+ exam ($239). The exam has a 90 minute time limit and consists of 98 questions. A passing score of 675, on a scale of 100-900, is required. Training is available but not required.
