Certification Summary: For individuals who want to be qualified instructionally and certified technically by Microsoft to deliver Microsoft Official Curriculum instructor-led courses for Microsoft Certified Technical Education Centers (CTECs) and Microsoft Authorized Academic Training Program (ATEC) institutions.
Initial requirements: You must earn a Microsoft certification (i.e. MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCAD, MCDST, MCDB, MCSD) or a Microsoft Business Solution (MBS) certification.
You must also demonstrate your skills as a trainer. If you are a new trainer, provide proof that you have attended an instructional presentation skills or train-the-trainer course that has been pre-approved by Microsoft. If you are an experienced trainer, you can instead present an instructor certificate from Cisco Systems, Citrix, Novell, Oracle, or CompTIA's CTT+. Alternatively you can provide proof that you are an instructor at an accredited academic institution.
Finally, you must complete the MCT application and pay the associated fee ($400).
Continuing requirements:
You must deliver training to at east 15 students in a valid Microsoft venue in a single period of four consecutive quarters. Must pay annual renewal fee. Must meet technical competency for each course you wish to teach. Must administer student surveys and obtain high customer satisfaction scores.
