Oracle Waives Training Requirement for E-Business Suite, Offers Beta Exams

Oracle is offering the opportunity to earn the Oracle E-Business Certified Professional designation without completing the hands on training requirement. To do this you must first pass the exams on your track by May 31, and then submit a waiver request form by July 31, 2007.

In other Oracle certification news, there are currently several beta exams available for $50 each. This includes Oracle 11 System Administration, the Install Patch and Maintain Applications exam, and fundamentals exams for Oracle 11 Payables, Receivables, Purchasing, and Order Management. Microsoft Offers Certification on Dynamics Product

Microsoft now has a certification program organized around its Microsoft Dynamics CRM/supply chain management/financial management software. The available certifications, which go by the name Microsoft Certified Business Management Solutions Professional (various tracks) cover such topics as Dynamics installation, configuration, management, and development. Long Awaited Debut of LPIC 3 Certification Arrives

The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) has announced that the top level of its 3 tier certification program is now up and running. LPIC 3 is for "enterprise level" Linux professionals. To earn this certification you must first achieve the first 2 levels of LPI certification, then pass an additional LPIC 3 core exam plus an elective specialty. Only one specialty exam is currently available: Mixed Environment. Future specialties include Security, High Availability and Virtualization, Web & Internet, and Mail and Messaging.

Lotus Exam Discount Through January 31, 2007

Lotus is offering a 50% discount on select exams taken by the end of January. The list includes four Lotus Notes Domino exams, two Sametime exams, and one Websphere exams. For the full list visit the offer page.

CompTIA Security+ Certification Count Reaches 30,000

Earlier this week the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) announced that is Security+ certification program has certified more than 30,000 individuals since its inception in December 2002. This certification covers critical practices for communications security, infrastructure security, cryptography, and operational and organizational security, and is recommended for individuals who have 2 years of on the job IT security experience.
