Brocade Announces Revamped Certification Program
Apparently having missed our recent article on the confusion wrought by the proliferation of Microsoft certifications, Brocade has announced plans to restructure their certification program into a matrix consisting of four levels of certification with four tracks for IT professionals and two tracks for channel partners "with more certifications to come as the program expands," according to Brocade. Existing certifications are mapped into the matrix, which you can see on the Brocade website. Many of these certifications have yet to be rolled out, including the new top level Brocade Distinguished Architect (BDA) designation that will be awarded after a candidate earns three elite level Brocade credentials and passes the BDA exam which is planned for release next year in 2010.

Oracle E-Business Suite System Administration Exam Beta Almost Over
The beta version of exam 1Z1 206, which is the only exam required to earn Oracle E-Business Suite R12 System Administrator Certified Expert (OCE) certification, will continue to be available for a mere $50 through June 30, 2009. Registration is through Prometric.

Cisco Launches MeetingPlace Certifications
Cisco has released design specialist and support specialist certifications for its Cisco Unified MeetingPlace solution, including the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Application Server, Media servers and Web Conferencing on premise or with WebEx optional solution. The Support Specialist designation requires that you first hold CCNA certification and then pass the Cisco MeetingPlace Support Specialist exam, while the Design Specialist option has a CCDA as a prerequisite and requires passing the Cisco MeetingPlace Design Specialist exam. Full exam details for both can be found on Cisco's website.
