CompTIA Adds Retroactive Certification Expiration Policy
CompTIA quietly announced that, effective January 1, 2010, CompTIA A+, Security+, and Network+ certifications must be renewed every 3 years. This includes everyone who already holds one of these certifications as well as individuals who earn them going forward. Read the full story…

Core Knowledge Questions Come to 3 More CCIE Exams
Cisco recently announced that the core knowledge question section found on other CCIE lab exams will now also appear in the CCIE Service Provider, Storage, and Wireless exams. The section, which appears at the beginning of the exams, consists of 4 short answer questions which must be answered essay style without the use of Cisco documentation. Cisco says answering should take only 15 minutes, and no extra time has been added to the exams. All CCIE lab exams now have this section.

Apple ACSA Exams Continue Rollout
Most of the Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA) exams are now available, including Mac OS X Server Essentials 10.6, Mac OS X Directory Services 10.6, and the Mac OS X Deployment 10.6 Exam. The Mac OS X Security and Mobility 10.6 exam is coming soon.

Juniper Networks Exam Prices to Change
As of March 1, 2010, Juniper Networks will make several changes to its exam pricing. The cost of associate-level exams will drop to $100 (from $125), while the specialist-level exams will go up to $200 each (also from $125). JNCIP and JNCIE lab exam pricing will change as well, going up to $1400 from $1250.

Solaris 9 Exams to be Sunsetted
Sun Solaris 9 exams will be discontinued on Jan 31, 2010, but candidates who already have vouchers will have until March 31, 2010, to use them.
