Overture Technical Support Achieves MEF Professional Certification
100 percent of the company's Technical Assistance Center attains MEF-CECP status to further enhance customer experience
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Overture, the preferred Carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation partner for service providers and network operators worldwide, today announced it is moving towards full MEF professional certification for all customer-facing employees. To date, the company's entire technical support staff has become MEF Carrier Ethernet Certified Professionals (MEF-CECP) and a number of the company's field service engineers have also been certified, with full compliance expected within the coming year. Overture, which is one of only five companies with ten or more MEF Carrier Ethernet Certified Professionals, also counts product managers, system engineers and product development engineers among those that have achieved the MEF professional certification as it continues to embrace MEF training and compliance.
"Overture is a good example of a Carrier Ethernet company that understands the importance of leading the market through MEF certification"
"Since its inception, Overture has embraced the MEF certification program. We took the initiative early on to ensure our entire technical support staff were among the first to pass the requirements laid down by the forum," said Keith Donahue, Vice President of Customer Service. "As a company, we pride ourselves on our commitment to quality and service, and the MEF Professional Certification is another way to ensure that we are doing everything we can to increase our customers' success."
The MEF certification program is the telecommunication industry's reference for Carrier Ethernet excellence. The threefold MEF program certifies equipment, services and professionals: equipment that service providers rely on to build fully compliant high performance Carrier Ethernet services; services that earn buyers' trust by conforming to MEF standards of quality and performance; professionals with the proven knowledge and skills to support the explosive growth of Carrier Ethernet across the world's markets. The CECP program is the newest of these certifications and is off to a strong start. To date, there are 541 certified professionals from 40 countries and 124 member organizations.
"Overture is a good example of a Carrier Ethernet company that understands the importance of leading the market through MEF certification," said Kevin Vachon, MEF COO. "The MEF Certification Program was designed to ensure excellence across the board and we congratulate Overture particularly on their MEF-CECP accomplishments to date."
