Take the CertMag Salary Survey

Halloween is nearly upon us, which means that — double bonus! — it's both the holiday season, and the annual Salary Survey season. Everyone knows about Halloween, but some of you out there may not be 100 percent familiar with the Salary Survey.

There's not just one Salary Survey in the world, of course, and not even just one such survey in the IT certification world. There is, on the other hand, only one survey that strives to include every IT certification under the sun. (Which is a lot of them. We can tell you that for a fact.)

For all of you certified IT professionals out there, the one to watch for is the annual Salary Survey conducted by Certification Magazine. The results are summed up in the first quarterly issue of Certification Magazine to arrive each year, in January, and additional information pops through at CertMag.com throughout the year.

Before the CertMag team can weigh and sift all of the data, however, the data must be gathered. Gathered from as many certified IT professionals as there are out there! If you work in IT, and you have at least one active IT certification, then — voila! — the Salary Survey is for you.

This year's annual Salary Survey is more streamlined, leaner and meaner, than in years past. On account of a recent behind-the-scenes change in survey policy, the CertMag team has shifted away from conducting salary research for every issue of the magazine.

Instead, beginning with the just-released October (Fall) quarterly issue, some of the questions previously asked for every survey have been set aside for the smaller surveys conducted throughout the year. The salary Q&A will now come around just once per year in the fall. (Right now, in other words.)

Of course, as everyone knows, surveys can be time-consuming. And since the CertMag survey relies entirely on volunteers, they don't just open the door and expect people to rush through it. No, at Certification Magazine, they understand the power of incentives.
